What do you think of the name Louis?

Pronounced Lou-ee (like Prince Louis). We wanted something classic but not ‘over used’ like George or William.
Happy to have any suggestions for boys names that go with the surname Orchard.

I would say it like Lewis and I think he's going to be constantly correcting people, unless say you live in french speaking Canada and that's a common pronunciation there.

I’m always confused by names like that. I would have pronounced it Lou-iis not Lou-ee. So I’d just be prepared to always be correcting people 🤷🏻‍♀️

The pronunciation of lou-ee won't be an issue in the UK. It seems everyone who would pronounce Louis as lou-iss is American. I'm originally from the UK and would only ever say lou-ee.
It's not my style, but Louis is classic and fits your criteria of not being too common (#69 in England and Wales).
