When does milk come in?

How soon after giving birth does milk come in? When did you give first breastfeeding?

I breastfed within an hour after giving birth. My milk came in both times by  day 3. They say it takes 3-5 days for milk to come in

3-4 days kinda depends on what baby is needing and if your pumping. With my last baby she was a preemie and I have to pump and syringe feed her. My milk came in about 24 hours because I had to pump soooo much.

I have colostrum currently (due next week) if I try to hand express. My consultant said 3 days is when actual milk comes in, but colostrum will start as soon as baby is born. I plan to feed as soon as they come out.
