Sleeping on his stomach!?

Question

Every night I put my boy (6 months) in his crib on his back. He’s crawling, and rolling over back and forth like crazy but every night for whatever reason rolls to his stomach with his face down on the mattress. He always has his hands between face and mattress but I’m still worried. Is there anyway I can have him stop this? Should I? It seems that’s how he’s the most comfortable.

If he just has. Fitted sheet on the mattress he’s fine. The crib mattress won’t allow them to fully smoosh their face to where they can’t breathe. Adult mattress, however will. My son has been a tummy sleeper since he could roll over

It’s nerve wracking but we were told to leave him if he’s flipping himself, and that we’d drive ourselves crazy.
We have the Nanit and bought the breathing band. Peace of mind

Don’t worry! If he can roll by himself, it is ok for him to sleep in his tummy, as long as the sleep environment is safe (no blankets, fitted sheet is right, etc)
