Fetal monitor at home?

Has anyone tried a doppler? Did it ease your mind or was it more stressful? I know it can be tricky somtimes but as this being my 3rd with 2 miscarriages i wanna keep a closer eye... i already use cheapy pregnancy test daily just to reassure me ( ridiculous i know)

I refused to buy one even though I wanted one because everytime the doctors would use a Doppler I would get horrible cramping for the rest of the day which caused more stress than anything  else

I was reading that it is not recommended to use dopplers at home. More appropriate way to check baby's health is kick counting. 
Sometimes dopplers pick up other things such as blood flow etc. sometimes they are not accurate if you don't place it properly. 
Also if you notice less movement even you find a heartbeat in doppler, you should get it checked. In such cases baby could be in distress and if you delay it could be too late.
But early in pregnancy movement is not regular. I would just keep this in mind for later stages of pregnancy.

It’s been great for me. Very reassuring and with my husband not being able to go to the appointments, I’m glad he still gets to hear baby’s heartbeat.

The doctors actually don’t recommend it because if you can’t find the heartbeat it can make you worried for nothing and I heard of cases where they thought it was the heartbeat and then latter there was something wrong and it make everything worse.

It caused stress for a little while bc I couldn’t find the heartbeat until 16 weeks!

We didn’t start using it till 17 weeks and we limit use to once a week. I’ve had two losses before this so it’s a nice reassurance. Limiting to once a week so it doesn’t become an issue of obsession with reassurance

It reassured me. However, I didn’t start using mine until 10 weeks. It will be really difficult to find at first and I had to watch YouTube videos to know where to look. If it’s going to freak you out if you can’t find it then I would suggest not getting one.
