Why is there so much pressure to go to college?

I don’t want to go to college. I’d rather just be a waitress and make good money. I feel like I disappointing so many people by not going to college. But waitresses make more money than people with college degrees

it’s a personal choice but a lot of jobs require a bachelors degree. but if u wanted waitress forever then dont go lol

Do it girl. Waitress forever, make that cash. Do your thing. Good waitresses are needed 🖤 my aunt is 60 and makes GOOD money at a regular pizza buffet restaurant. 
Her hands and knees are killing her but of you do something long enough, its gonna take a toll.
You can always change yourind later if you want and he if you really just want to please your family, go to trade school for like 9 months and try that out 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wouldn’t say that waitress make more money than people with college degrees but that depends on what they majored in. If you don’t want to go to school and prefer to be a waitress for the rest of your life then do it

If that’s what you want and would make you happy, then go for it! It’s just that a lot of jobs now require 4 year degrees. But if you think about it, before we know it, we’ll ALL be going to college. And, because of that, our degrees will be useless. 
Consider this, too: we will still need jobs that don’t require 4 yr degrees, like in your case, being a waitress. If we don’t have those positions filled... then what?
Besides... maybe you’ll change your mind a few years from now and will end up going to college. 
Whatever you choose, make sure it is in your best interest and for YOU. Not your parents, not your friends, not your teachers, etc... ultimately, it is your life and you have to live it. Not them.
