Epidural before pitocin?

Did anyone get epidural before pitocin? Did you have any pain? I heard pitocin makes contractions a million times worse 😩

I was induced with cytotech? I believe it was called which didn’t fully work. I was on that for 24 hours and pitocin for 12 but I honestly never felt a contraction. I begged for an epidural when they said they were going to try to break my water even though my cervix wasn’t dialated. I legit felt like they were making hamburger of my vagina with all of their damn checking. I’m getting nauseous just thinking about the pain I was in. All in all I was on the highest dose of pitocin for 36 hours, and if the monitors hadn’t been on I wouldn’t have known I was even having contractions even prior to the epidural.

My epidural didn't hurt at all. I was in labor for 2 days prior tho. And anything felt better then the contractions I was having

You have to be at a certain point if labor for them to give epidural. yes they hurt, but they gradually increase the dose of pitocin. I would recommend holding off until you. Any breath through them, that way you can walk and bounce on a ball to help progress. Otherwise you’re stuck in the bed☺️

If you are worried about the pain, just ask them when you should get it. I was induced with my 3rd baby and waited until I was about 6cm... they would not let me walk around so I basically sat there and wiggled in my uncomfortable contractions for like 4 hours.🙄🙄 I got the epidural and was ready to have him about an hour later because I could relax... dont torture yourself...

They start out slow. I wouldn’t get the epidural until your contractions actually hurt. Moving around can help labor progress.
