How well do you think this would work ?

I’d imagine you’d need to make sure it’s in a pitcher that can easily be mixed up. But do you guys have any reasons this might be a bad idea?

Of course also need to make sure it’s all the same temp before adding it together but you would also need to make sure it’s all dated back to the oldest date. They do make pitchers with handle/mixers which would make it easier to mix. I personally couldn’t do it. It would drive me nuts having to date a whole pitcher the same date/time

This seems like too much work like another poster said. Although I have seen moms who feed formula do this method. Instead of making individual bottles they make a days worth of formula into the pitcher and serve throughout the day.

I’m an exclusive pumper and I do this. I use the same set of flanges, bottles, etc. for the whole day. So, I pump, put the flanges and everything in the fridge after I pump. Then, before my next pump (once the milk from my previous pump is cold) I dump it into the pitcher. I make bottles at the end of the day.

The main advantage of this, I think, is MUCH less waste because you're not using bajillions of little plastic bags. I donate milk to another baby, and I pump into glass bottles, put them in the fridge, and then combine into 24oz mason jars, which I label 1, 2, 3, etc. They pick up milk twice a week. Works for us!

I think it depends how much milk you produce. I wouldn’t be even close to a pitcher size with all my milk all day 🙈 but I think the only thing I’d do is maybe put it in glass instead of plastic? Or at least something BPA FREE??

Well your milk changes based on the time of day. Nighttime milk has more of something that help promotes sleep and morning milk has more amino acids I think. And then there is also a different levels of Vitamins based on the time of day you pump. So not sure how I feel about the pitcher idea. Like the other poster said, you can’t combine cold and freshly pumped milk so you’d have to get it to fridge temp before combining, so seems kinda pointless to me 🤷🏻‍♀️ and then you’d have to assure it’s well mixed or you’d not have a good radio in bottles of foremilk and hindmilk.... and over mixing can cause breast milk to break down.
