Should I start pumping?

I started leaking weeks ago (just clear) but today I noticed it was very yellow like colostrum, I’m 38 weeks and am being induced in 6 days, should I pump now and have colostrum ready for babe? I feel like it’s going to waste🤔

You can get things that sit there and collect the colostrum without pumping. I would talk to your doctor before pumping because it can cause contractions. But if your baby is ready to come and your doctor okays it, sure pump and store it.

I would not pump. It’s strongly suggested not to pump before the first 4-6weeks after the baby is born so ur supply can regulate on its own. Pumping will cause bigger issues if introduced too soon and u will be highly uncomfortable which can easily be avoided. Ur body knows what it’s doing. You will have more than enough colostrum when baby gets here. It’s not like there’s a set amount you produce then it stops lol so u won’t run out.

I would pump! My dr told me when I was 38+ that it was a way to catch some liquid gold and possibly get labor going if my body was ready!
