How much sex in a relationship is normal?

My partner and I have very conflicting sex drives and he doesn’t think we have sex enough. I don’t have as high of a sex drive and we already have sex about once or twice a week. Should I make more of an effort or is this pretty normal? We’ve been dating for 2+ years now.

It's really different for every couple. Don't judge your relationship based on what other people are doing in theirs.

It’s different for everyone and it fluctuates in relationships. Sometimes my fiancé have sexual every day in a week. Sometimes we don’t have sex for an entire week. But you are never obligated to have sexual with him and you shouldn’t feel bad for not wanting to or try to talk yourself into it because he’s guilting you. Sometimes I don’t turn my fiancé down when I’m not feeling it but only because I know he’ll take the time to turn me on and I’ll end up enjoying it. He’s also very understanding if I don’t want to and he’s never frustrated or upset with me about it. It’s not like you are refusing him for months at a time. It sounds like he has a higher then average sexual drive but he needs to realize that you don’t and he okay with that.

I think it depends on the couple, like for my man and I it’s multiple times a week but for others it might be once a week or 3 times a month it all depends on the dynamic the couple has and what they would consider “normal”

Everyone is different, everyone has different sex drive sex drives Ebb and Flow. Life happens, stress happens, kids and family, depression and anxiety, hormonal changes etc. I have to be with someone that has similar sex drive to me. I can honestly go 12 rounds 7 days a week since I turned 40/41.  But who’s got time for that. Relationships change. Priorities change. I could have sex daily and give oral on shark week. But that’s me. Obviously a new and exciting beginning verses 40 years married is gonna have different momentum and sex drive. Everyone is different you just gotta find a compromise.
