Camping?

Has anyone taken there babies camping? How old were they? And any tips or tricks to it?

My first was just over a year old when we took her for the first time and my cousin went with us last year and her baby was about six months old at the time. I’d recommend taking a pack n play to help contain them when they can’t be held and a bumbo style chair for meal times if they have head control (not sure how young your baby is). Also a fitted crib sheet to place over the top of the pack n playtime help with shade durning the day and bugs at night. Our family is avid campers and we will be taking our newest bundle on her first camping trip at about 8-9 months old ( mostly just cause of season changes, not due till September. If I was due early spring or late winter I personally wouldn’t have any issues taking a three month old camping lol)

I was wondering the same thing! We are avid campers and with this covid crap we are getting so restless! I read a few articles over its almost better to take them before they are crawling to factor out the hazards of them being mobile.. of course make sure temps, weather and safety precautions are in place! I think it would be awesome.. especially if they are able to sleep through the night and have a good routine going

We recently took our 3 mo old tent camping and it was fine but I will wait until he’s older to do it again lol it was just tough with naps and not having the comforts of home and keeping him busy. Also diaper changes ha My parents were there too but in their RV so we at least had a fridge and sink when we needed it to wash bottles and store formula. It just was a bit more stressful than we thought it’d be but it can be done. Make sure you have a portable sound machine and some sort of outside dome play area that you can safely set baby in. Also bring layers for baby because it was supposed to be hot but it ended up being way colder at night than we expected.
