Taking anxiety medication?

My mind will not stop racing and im having anxiety. Do you guys know if you can take ativan while pregnant? Obviously I would consult my doctor first but i wanted to check here with everyone?

Ativan is not recommended during pregnancy. You can take an SSRI though. I’ve been on escitolopram for 3 years, and my doctor and midwife have both said that’s safe. You should discuss options with your doctor. The symptoms of anxiety can be worse for baby than some of the meds.

I'm a nurse and for people who have anxiety while pregnant at the facility I work at we give them benadryl. But your ob can tell you what is safe for you.

Nope- not safe during pregnancy. Contact your dr to see if they’ll prescribe something safer.
