Before I got pregnant, a gynecologist from Cleveland Clinic told me that new research is coming out on the effect of artificial preservatives, "fake" meat (eg the meat from fast food has very little actual meat in it because they add a lot of crap) and it's effect on pregnancy and the baby's long term health (eg baby may seem fine,  but may struggle with other health issues later on). She told me she'd prefer that I eat a huge piece of cake than to eat that. So I tried to order food from actual restaurants and avoid the overly processed stuff. If you do eat it, I would do it sparingly. We are so careful of chemicals in medication when pregnant, but not chemicals in food, so it makes sense.
