Bicornuate uterus, bleeding and pregnancy

Stephenne

For the ladies with Bicornuate. I am 8 weeks and 6 days today. I had some spotting Monday night, didn’t think anything of it since my IVF doctor told me that bleeding could happen. Yesterday, Tuesday, around 11AM, I was laying on the bed and I felt that something Liquidy was coming out, went to the bathroom and saw a good amount of blood, I thought it was a lot of blood but still tried to stay calm and not worry. Tuesday night I stared feeling cramping in my lower abdomen and started having a LOT of bleeding. Throughout the night, same, lot of bleeding and very bad cramping. I definitely thought that I lost my baby, I had zero hope that my baby was still there. Went to my IVF doctor in the morning, had an ultrasound. Right away he reassured me that the baby was perfectly fine and healthy, my baby is on the right side of my uterus. He also told me that he could see blood clots on the left side. He told me not to worry that he has seen it before, that I was already at nine weeks, I should stay hydrated rest but not worry about the blood, that it could happen again and if I see lots of clotting then to come back for an ultrasound. I was terrified when it happened to me, I hope that one day this story helps someone stay calm and not jump to conclusions until that person sees the doctor.
