When did you transition baby to own room? Tips?

My baby is 4 mo old and I was wondering if you think that’s too young to go into his own nursery? It makes me so nervous but his room is right next to ours and I have a video monitor, etc. He’s going through an awful sleep regression and it’s been exhausting. He’s currently in our room in a pack and play so either myself or my husband get up with him to feed and put back to sleep but it takes over an hour now so we are both losing major sleep. We take turns getting the baby but since it’s all in the same room we’re both waking up. It would be nice if we could take turns and the other person actually catch up on sleep.

FTM and I originally wanted to wait at least 6 months but curious if people did it sooner and had success? Thanks!

EDIT: he is rolling in both directions
