Pregnant mamas, when did you have a dentist appointment?

I feel like the dentist is more risky since you can’t wear a mask, and I’m debating whether or not I should go while pregnant. Curious what others are doing.

You should be getting your teeth cleaned atleast once while pregnant. Pregnancy can do some funky things to your gums including pregnancy related gingivitis￼. I’d for sure go.

I had an appointment right when COVID shut everything down, so they cancelled it. My husband had one a few weeks ago (I’m 22 weeks) and he had to work because his schedule had changed so I took it and didn’t have any issues. Everyone else was wearing masks unless they were in the chair and the chairs are all more than 6 feet apart. No sprayer just a water cup and suction they wore gloves and masks/ face shields while working on me it was over 2 weeks ago and I’m fine. We also don’t have a lot of cases so I wasn’t too worried.

I went about a week and a half ago. They did nothing different other than not doing xrays. She did mention that gum irritation is common so I would be more prone to bleeding with the cleaning and any flossing I do but that’s about it. They didn’t have any concern with me being in the first trimester.

I had an appointment yesterday for dental cleaning. I’m currently 7 wks and 5 days today. I totally forgot to notify them that I was pregnant when they reminded me of my appointment. Anyway, I arrived there and told me that it’s little risky and they don’t do dental cleaning on 1st trimester. I had to reschedule it when I’m on my 2nd trimester.

I have 2 cleanings per year. 1st one was in my 1st trimester, 2nd one coming up this month and I'm already in 3rd trimester. And I'm not skipping it!
