Yarn suggestions?

Hi everyone, I'm just starting out crocheting and I was wondering what you guys would suggest as far as yarn. What brands and types are best for beginners? Something relatively cheap is preferred. Thank you! Also if anyone has any project ideas that would be super helpful.

Depends on the project/needle size/use. Knitting a sweater at the moment and I'm using an alpaca wool mix bought at sale. Next project will be an other sweater but a different pattern so a different yarn - Pickles thick merino. Don't know if Drops yarn is available where you live? 
To quote my mum: you use the same amount of time knitting/crocheting so use the best yarn you can so you get some use out of what you make. Yes there's some cheap yarn that of ok quality, but most doesn't hold as well as more expensive yarn.

I love hobby lobby “I love this yarn” brand it’s a med weight so works for a lot of projects and it’s not super expensive and every other week it’s 30% off as well.
