Safe place to put baby down?

Hello! I’m wanting something that is a safe place to put baby down in especially once baby can roll. We have a halo bassinet and crib that will stay on one floor but looking for another item for our second floor.
Thought about a pack and play but I read the mattresses are super uncomfortable so I’m not sure. Any suggestions? :)

I think a pack n play is your best option if you need to have your baby contained, but honestly I used to just leave my son on the ground on his play gym mat because it was safe and it allowed him to explore. If you have dogs or older kids then I guess the pack n play is much safer.

A pack n play is “uncomfortable” for safety reasons. Babies cannot sleep on surfaces that aren’t firs and flat. As for products, I don’t use anything to contain our kids. They’ve always been places on the floor with some toys once they reached 4 months old or so. From 0-4 months, they lounged in their DockATot. But our pack n play is for sleep and we don’t do container products (i.e. swings, rockers, bouncers, walkers, jumpers, activity seats, etc).

Just get a pack and play and then get a mattress that fits it. My daughter refused to sleep in the pack and play til I got 1 and then she slept happily in it for the first year in my room.

Definitely go with the pack and play. Our son rolls everywhere and we can’t leave him down on the floor with our 2 dogs so he will roll all around just fine in his pack and play with his toys quietly.

I got this for downstairs, open floor plan so baby gates won't work. It's 5x6 feet do it's pretty spacious. We have hardwood floors so I just put her foam mat underneath. She kept pulling the squares apart to chew on them anyway lol. She's contained so she can't roll/crawl off and get into something if I'm multitasking and doing the dishes.
