Nipple shield ?

Question

HAs anyone used a nipple shield with a non newborn for overactive letdowns?
Ive been struggling for weeks and about to shoot myself. My 3 month old on avg sucks 2 minutes each time 1-5 times per hour cuz my milk is too strong for him. It sounds like he’s being waterboarded each time. And bc of this he cant sleep well. I can’t take it anymore 
Exploring options before trying to pump. I really don’t prefer pumping

I would nurse my son until letdown, take him off the breast and let it spray into a towel or Hakka or something until the spray slowed down and then put my son back on the breast. Eventually your baby will be able to handle your let down once they get a little bigger!

My friends let down was to much for her daughter too, she had to nurse her laying down with baby on top of her. Have you tried that? They are better able to control how much they get at once that way thanks to gravity

I use a nipple shield and I also have a strong let down. It’s definitely way easier than pumping. But the one thing I hate is the shield will fill with milk and then drip down my sides and stomach. I feel like I’m always covered in milk.

Get a hakka and remove some let down before nursing
