Do you have the best in laws?!

Anyone have in-laws that love them and make them feel wanted in the family? What’s it like lol. 😂 I never thought it would be a problem but I’m a lucky one that gets monster in laws instead 💕

My in laws are in the middle. My FIL was absolutely odd in the beginning years. He would ignore my presence as if I was invisible. If he did ever address me, he wouldn't look at me. My MIL would throw tantrums if she didn't get her way. They got better and I changed my expectations. Now we get along pretty well.  I can't say I love them but I definitely like them. Hopefully it stays that way!

I love my in laws, they treat me like family and my parents treat my hubby like he’s their own son. It honestly is great having a second family and feeling welcome. With my ex husband, families didn’t get along so it has been a breath of fresh air. I feel so bad when I read the horrible stories but I guess some mothers are way too protective of their sons lol.

My mother in law isn’t the worst...but she isn’t a very warm or charismatic person. Not like my mom is. She is very tough and rough around the edges, kind of judgmental and passive aggressive. I don’t think she honestly realizes it. She does tend to nitpick about the way I do things. Even the dumbest things, like how to cut a watermelon or how I mop my floors. I try not to let it get to me. Because other than that, she’s a nice person and has welcomed me into the family and been generous.

I love my inlaws. My MIL and step-FIL helped so much with decorating and help plan our wedding (shes a pro wedding decorator). My FIL and step-MIL are great people - but we don't see them much. I see one of my SILs at least 2x a week because I watch her kiddos and we try to see the others as often as possible. They included me in family get together from the get go and never made me feel unwelcome.

My MIL and my husbands entire family (grandparents/aunts/uncles) make everyone feel extremely welcome. They are all very close. Too close for my taste lol Sometimes my MIL is too much for me as in sharing every aspect of our lives with the entire world unless told otherwise (my MIL is a gossip queen), being too emotional or trying to input her opinions. She learned that I don’t like it so she toned it down. My husband doesn’t like it either but he just yeses her to death and does what he wants in the end lol 
So all in all, my MIl isn’t the best in the world but I wouldn’t trade her for anyone else lol

I get along with my in laws just fine, but they want nothing to do with the 'grandparents' role (and it's not like we were too young when my husband and I had kids...we were married and 26 with our 1st).  They like to drink way too much and have never been to anything at school for the kids like their Christmas programs, grandparents day, etc.
