When did you have your first prenatal visit?

I’m asking because I called today to get an appointment and they can not see me until I’m almost 12 weeks. Does this seem a bit late especially given my age. I’m 45.

It’s normal for a lot of offices to not see you until you’re 12 weeks but I agree, given your age, I would think they would like to see you sooner since you’re higher risk

8 weeks with our first son just so we could get a headstart on paperwork. With this son, week 12 or 13.

For your age, yes. Did they know how old you are? Even if they just asked your birthdate it could have not registered. I would call back.

You might have talked to someone new. And if they truly won’t see you, I would get a different doctor. Your age alone makes you high risk. I have worked in OB and this is my 5th pregnancy and never have been turned away until a certain amount of weeks. They might not do much at the first visit but you should be able to see someone.

Yes for your age. I would call again and mention your age and see what they say. Most of the time they just schedule and leave it alone without even looking at a chart

I’d see if they’ll refer you to high risk specialist sooner. I’m 37 and high risk has to see me at 12 weeks to do first trimester screening bloodwork.
