About a year and a half ago (10 years into my relationship with hubby) my mil started refering to my by the wrong name once or twice a visit during our weekly dinners. Alexis instead of Alexa. Gave it a few weeks then started either not responding or hubs or I would just correct her. She's say she works with an Alexis so she can't help it. After a few months hubs told her she needed to stop. She kept going and he went over on his own and had a chat with her about it. She's mostly been good for the past 6 months except one text she wrote Alexis.

Anyhow this week were having dinner and she started complaining she called someone a nickname "Ray" instead of "Rachel" and the woman was thrown off then said only one person calls her that but it's fine, shell get used to it. So my mil made a big stink to us about how shell make sure to call her Rachel. Then she said how she sends out whatever for work and people will actually complain when their names are spelt wrong. And she doesn't care if it's "ee" or "ie" etc So I said "it's not ridiculous to want you're name spelt correctly..." And she rolled her eyes and said something about she only sends it out once a month so why complain. And I just dropped it because I try not to get into arguments with her (I bite my tongue a lot 😬)

So a bit of a vent/ rant here. But also is it better that she doesn't respect anyone and it's not just me who's name she doesn't care about 😅😅 or worse because she has no respect for anyone 🤪
