How early to see doctor after positive test?

I just took several tests in two days which seem to confirm I am pregnant. I am going on a week vacation with my parents and husband in 2 days so I just assumed I would call my med management doctor asap, but make an appointment for when we come back with an OB-GYN to confirm things. I thought I would still tell my parents the news since I had mentioned we were wanting this. Does this sound reasonable or am I being irresponsible somehow for not immediately going in to a doctor for a blood test?
