Tv in kids room?! What are your thoughts?

I’m just wanting to know the thoughts of parents and their kids with TVs in their rooms. 
Do you think it’s bad? Good?
If you are okay with tv in kids room, how old were they when you decided to put a tv in their room.

I don't even have one in our room. I don't intend on putting one in anyone's room, just because it doesn't feel necessary. That's just us though.

Why would you think this would be a good idea? 🤔 bedrooms are for sleeping and rest. I’ll never even consider putting a tv or toys or any of that in a child’s bedroom. They’re too stimulating and don’t help with creating a calming atmosphere that promotes rest.

I’ve read a study on parents putting TV sets in their kids rooms and the reasons behind them were either for background noise or for the kids to be educated with the TV. It’s also shown to hinder the sleeping process if kids have them on when they sleep. Which to me seems like TV’s in rooms aren’t necessary. My brother and I both had TV’s in our rooms but we mostly just watched TV in the main room. For me personally I won’t be having a TV in my sons room until he’s older because I don’t think it’s necessary. Sorry for the long comment lol

My son has always had a tv in his room from about 2-3 years old. He's always had a time limit. Hes now 11 and only has it on for an hour before bed each night. Each to their own

My daughter has had a TV in her room since about 2 years old. Her and I both always fall asleep with the TV on and on mute. For some this would be a heck no but I'm not like that. As long as the children are playing with toys, doing arts and crafts,  reading, playing outside ect a little TV time won't hurt.

I never had a tv in my room until I moved out at 18. I will do the same with my kids. I think I turned out better because of it personally.

We don’t have one in our room. I’m not putting one in my child’s room. It is completely unnecessary and I am a huge fan of promoting good sleep habits.

Absolutely not. My husband and I don't have a TV in our bedroom either and don't ever plan on it. I think they're super unnecessary for the bedroom.

It depends on the age my 14 year old has one for his xbox in his room but I don’t think a younger kid needs one . Just a side note my sons is actually never on he doesn’t even really play the Xbox unless he has a friend over

I’ll probably put one in my kid’s room when they’re older and staying up later, like middle or high school. Or put one in my room. After 9:30 is me time preferably and if TV is needed to keep it that way then whatever.
