Should I take my baby to get her vaccines during corona?
So the title is pretty much self explanatory but a little backstory:
I have a 10 month old baby about to be 11 months in 4 days. She has her 4 months vaccines but that is it. When she went to get her 4 month vaccines she contracted RSV at the pediatric clinic we go to. And we know it was from there cause she had not been around children before then. It was very scary, she had to go to the hospital cause she started wheezing. She was sick for two weeks. Now she’s fine and healthy thank God. BUT she missed her 6 month appointment because her pedriatrician canceled the appt and was out for 2 weeks. During that time everything with corona started happening and we were in lockdown. I wasn’t comfortable with her going to the appt because I was so scared of her contracting something. They told me I can make an appointment whenever I feel comfortable. Months go by and corona is getting worse (I live in Texas and it seems like we are one of the worst with a high number of cases) and I still haven’t made the appt until June. The earliest appt they could give me was July 26th. Weeks later. When the day came they canceled and didn’t tell me why. They just said the doctor was “out”. I’m so terrified of taking my daughter for her wellness checkup and her getting sick! And you would think “well now they’re sanitizing everything really well” but shouldn’t they have been doing that before??? Also when she got RSV it wasn’t like the clinic was FULL of kids. It was maybe about 3 other kids and she was in her car seat not close to any of them. I’m at a loss. Will her not getting her vaccines affect her more? Than her risk of contracting something? Pls be nice I’m a first time mom and everything is scary
