Gassy newborn? Similac pro sensitive

We recently changed my newborns formula to pro sensitive due to her gas and fussiness and I don’t think it’s helping. She’s still SO gassy during and after feeding. Did anyone else have this issue? She’s been on it for over a week now. She was on the advance formula before. We tried mylicon but I don’t think it’s helping.

Pro sensitive is for babies with milk allergies. Pro total comfort is for gassy/tummy issue babies. My son was super gassy too and pro total comfort helped a lot.

Just changed my little one to that brand and she still deals with gas off and on . I believe it’s like people said it’s apart of their overall development as babies . If she is older than 2 weeks you can give gripe water when the gas is really bothering her and switch to a slow flow bottle to prevent stomach upset .

It is completely normal for newborns to be gassy even if you change formula. Their little bodies are still developing that area at this stage. I was so worried about gas and eventually my son grew out of it. I breastfeed and so I thought allergies but really it was just his little body still maturing. Do all types of exercises to help relieve the gas trapped.

My newborn was like that constantly until we changed her to the Gerber good start soothe in the purple container. Since we changed her a few weeks ago she’s been perfect ever since and hasn’t been fussy at all!

We switched from pro advanced to pro total comfort. He wasn’t pooping for days and was pushing so hard he was miserable but day one from switching to the comfort he was pooping and was and different baby much more pleasant! Doctor told me to keep waiting before switching but day five of no poops and my baby was absolutely miserable I switched since i had a sample can at home and it was the best thing I did.

My LO had tons of gas issues. We changed him to Enfamil sensitive and we add gripe water to a couple bottles a day. Along with bicycle kicks and burping during feedings (and even if he isn’t feeding), it’s helped a lot!

Yes. My son originally was put on the pro sensitive because both my husband and I have dairy allergies. Not just lactose intolerance but a legitimate allergy to the proteins in dairy. So we had a feeling our son would have the same issue. The pro sensitive didn’t work well enough for him. It’s lactose free, but still contains all the proteins. We ended up having to switch him to Nutramigen (enfamil). The Similac equivalent is Allimentum I believe. But the Nutramigen is not only lactose free, but it’s pre-digested and the proteins are processed in a way where they’re smaller particles and extremely easy to digest compared to regular formulas or even the sensitive formulas. It also has a probiotic. As soon as we put him on Nutramigen, he instantly got better. He seemed way more comfortable and less fussy. He wasn’t as gassy at all. He spit up a lot less. His poops were a lot more regular.
