Periods and ovulation

I was on nexplanon for 8 months and it totally screwed up my periods , I’d bleed for weeks at a time and it was always so light . I got it removed 2 days ago and figured since I was on my period at the time of removal it’ll do a full on shed and finish , it went away slightly and all of the sudden I started bleeding very heavy like a regular period . Me and my fiancé are wanting to concieve and I’m starting to get sad that my period will never end and I’m not sure when I’ll ovulate , I really want to concieve but after nexplanon I’m very discouraged . Any advice or anyone out there who had nexplanon and can help me better understand what’s happening ?
