Are the walkers bad for babies ?! Please help

My 6 month old has been dragging around her stand in toy thing that has toys around the table and it doesn’t even move. So we went and got a walking one and obviously would never use it without watching her but my mother has told me not to use it and that it’s bad for there hips and unsafe ? Thoughts ?

Yes, it has been proven to be linked to hip problems in babies and they aren't recommended. America is the only country where you can legally buy them 🙄 but the decision is obviously yours to make. Moderation is key 🔑

Absolutely not. My little boy went in a walker at 7 months old, his hips ect are totally fine, he was steady walking by 10.5 months! Running by 14 months old. Does them no harm :)

I think that you just don't want the baby to stand too much. The doctor told us that our baby was starting to lock her legs from building too much muscle too fast so we stopped using it and then just let her crawl/stand whenever she was ready.

If you have the kid in there for just a small amount every once in a while it won't hurt. But don't leave the kid in there for a long time or every day

I used them with my kids who liked them. They are dangerous because a) people were using them on the top of the stairs and baby could fall, duh b) baby's older sibling or parent would push them around the house in it and it would jam baby's legs or foot. So don't do that c) parents would fail to baby proof things that baby can now grab with new mobility. And d) they'd leave baby in it like all the time and it's not good for their hips. So no more than 20 mins or so at a time. 
So just use it like a normal intelligent parent would, and it's fine
