Speech delay?

My son is now 23 months and barely speaks around 20-25 words.. 
We are bilingual and speak 2 languages at home. should I be worried? I didn’t talk his doctor yet 
Any advice ladies?

We also speak 2 languages at home. My son is the same age and says about 40 words (some of them repeats in english and spanish). My doctor said most kids who are being raised bilingual will seem "behind" on the number of words but in the long run will be far ahead in their language skills due to knowing more than one language. Keep up the good work mama, you're doing great!

I don't know if you should be worried. That sounds good to me! But two of my three sons talked late and the other is only 8 weeks old. 
Google says our kids should be saying about 50 words. But you can always ask his doctor. They may even just let you call and ask for a referral to ECI or a speech therapist without having to take him into their office. My son only says 2-3 words and only very occasionally. He was diagnosed with a speech delay and was in speech therapy. But he's suspected ASD and online speech therapy wasn't working for him so he only did it for six weeks. 
I can't remember how many words my first son was saying at two, but I am pretty sure it was less than what yours can do! I remember talking to his doctor then and he said he'd refer me to ECI if I wanted, but he didn't think it was necessary. He's 3.5 now. He really started talking between 2.5 and 3. He's communicatively on the level of other  children his age, but I'm no longer worried about him.
