Do you let your husbands or boyfriend name your baby?

Everytime I bring up a name for my baby and my boyfriend doesn’t like it but then I get mad because he keeps suggesting these really ugly common names that aren’t even cute and he gets mad that I get mad and it’s like dude I’m trying to come up with something we both like but he just seems like oh you name the baby then it’s annoying and I hate to say it but I feel like he takes away the excitement of even having our baby because he’s not really excited at all like idek should he even have a say because he hasn’t helped me he hasn’t payed for shit not a penny for our baby

I tend to come up with most (if not all) of the suggestions, but we decide together which we will use!

My husband chose our kids first names and I chose the middle names. That way it would be more 50/50 in the naming process. We still got a say if we didn’t like the names we chose but ultimately that’s how we did it. We also went with common names because of what I went through growing up with my name we didn’t want our kids to have to deal with that.

For my husband and I it’s literally just me reading through tons of names and is both discussing them until we agree on one we like! So far we’re pretty sure on a girl but haven’t agreed yet on a boy!

Ugh, I think my husband is a rare breed. He says he doesn’t like a few names. But, mostly all the names I say he goes sure sounds great. I don’t know if we’ve actually settled on a name either way... but I have my top picks with middle names. We have to agree on it, I couldn’t let him just pick a name and be okay with it. It’s my child too, and I want to be apart of the decision. It’s one of the most personal things we give to our children. And, I want it to be done thoughtfully.

My boyfriend wanted to name our baby Bjorn if it was a boy and turned out I’m having a boy but I didn’t want that name because I know that was the name he was going to name his baby with his ex. So I Changed it. He was mad but oh well. All the names he given me were names he were going to use with all his ex if they had children (which they were trying). He said he’s going to name our girl next.

We named my son after my husband’s late brother. I got the middle name on that one. The deal was I was supposed to get the second baby’s name - full control. Lol, that has not happen. My favorite girl name he shot down immediately. Now we have no name for baby 2...

I allow him to give suggestions and I want it to be a joint decision however at the end of the day, if I really like a name and he isn't sure about it, we're going with that name because I'm not going to go through 10 months of carrying them, labour and delivery, plus post partum recovery and the things that never quite go back to the way they were before only for him to get the final say. Plus they're getting his last name so 😌
