Is this situation OK or not OK?

Ja

SO.

I am American, white as hell. Lmao and my husband is from Mexico. He was brought here when he was one and a half years old and his mom’s story of how she and her three sons came into the US is beautiful, terrifying, and captivating (if it’s requested I’ll post it as an edit).

When my husband and I got married I changed my last name from Rhodes to Hernandez Garcia knowing full well that I may be turned down for jobs and experience things I’ve not experienced before because of my skin color.

Now, at work when people hear my last name or see it, they ask if I am Mexican or at least “halfsies”. I always tell them no and tell them I acquired the most beautiful second family through my husband, who IS from Mexico.

My husband and I were talking about it tonight and he (being the goofy guy he is) said I should tell them his story of coming into the US as my own.

I said “isn’t that wrong, though? I feel like that would feel wrong.”

He said “no it’s not because I’m giving the OK. If I just found out you had been doing it without my permission, THAT would be wrong.”

So now we can’t decide if it’s right or wrong. I’m still not going to do it, but I want to know what Glow thinks!
