What type of laptop do you use for college?

I’d like to know what laptop I should buy for college. I don’t have anyone to ask questions about college besides my teachers, so... I don’t know what would be easier or like more useful to use. Is there a specific laptop someone should have for college?

I use a 2019 MacBook Air 13-inch. I do a lot of writing since I major in Communications (soon I’ll be an Advertising major though) and I find it’s the perfect size for me, but it is expensive. If you want a MacBook, I suggest you look for one either refurbished or open-box on eBay. They tend to be heavily discounted on eBay. If you buy it directly from Apple, they do offer a student discount, but you’ll have to Google the discount directly rather than going to the website and trying to get it from there.

it'll depend on your major and also other stuff you do on your laptop. ie do you just browse the internet and use word/google docs? do you download a lot of files? do you like streaming movies? etc.

I have an acer aspire. 
For basic use, you dont need an expensive laptop that will make you eat ramen for a week!! 
Search on youtube, "good laptops for college up to (choose a price you want to spend)". There are a lot of good reviews that will list pros and cons of each laptop and their price.

I have been using a MacBook Air 2012, recently got myself a MacBook Air 2020! Works really well I like that I can pair it with my phone easily & airdrop things.
