Surgical tech?

Any surgical techs on here with children? I’m highly considering starting a surgical tech program but I am very curious how the work/life schedule is? Would you recommend this career with small children?

Not a ST but I work with them and my hubby is finishing a ST program. Took him 3 years on waitlist after finishing pre-reqs to get a seat in the program but that’s his school. So if you’re interested I would start looking ASAP. As for work/life balance it really depends on where/what type of work that you find, as anything in healthcare. In a hospital you usually have to work some off shifts/weekends and on-call hours. Surgical centers might have more routine hours/less on-call hours but I assume require more experience as those might be more sought after positions. So it depends highly on the area you work and types of openings you find. But I’d say most anything healthcare field can be hard for a routine schedule for kids but it depends on what you can find
