Ultrasound at 5 weeks?

Just found out I was pregnant last night, I’ve had 3 MC before this pregnancy. I am scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow and I am only 5 weeks, what exactly are they looking for?

At 5 weeks they probably won't see much of anything. Ultrasounds this early usually just causes unnecessary worry

At my 5 week ultrasound after miscarriage I only had a gestational sac.  2 weeks later the fetal pole and heart beat were there.  I would say they are just looking to see that the pregnancy is in the uterus and that there is the presence of a gestational sac that early.  Don’t set your expectations too high for an ultrasound that early.  I was so worked up for 2 weeks waiting to see that heart beat and fetal pole, but all was good!  Just breathe!

When I had mine they wanted to make sure there was an embryo growing in there. I had a blighted ovum, In which you’re pregnant, produce hcg, symptoms, all that, but there’s only a sac and no baby actually growing.
Could be that?
