About 3 months before I got pregnant with my first baby I spent a week in hospital and had a bunch of tests done. The doctors thought I have crohns but I didn’t get any further tests done once I got pregnant. I’ve had 3 healthy babies now and not one flair up. My doctor said it’s common for IBD symptoms to go into remission during pregnancy

I have post-cholecystectomy syndrome with bile acid malabsorption. Basically when they took my gallbladder out I it didn’t solve any problems for me. Now my digestive tract doesn’t properly absorb the bile salts my liver makes. And my liver still makes bile like I have a gallbladder to store the excess. Buuuttttt... pregnancy made all my issues disappear, at least for that 9 months. Because our digestive systems slow down during pregnancy to get the most out of the food we eat, my liver slowed down on the bile production and I was able to eat normally without any issues. 
TMI- if I don’t take 2-3 doses of Psyllium husk powder (unflavored, unsweetened Metamucil) daily I will have severe (and often embarrassing) gastric distress with loud gurgling sounds that eventually means I have to find a bathroom fast. Taking it has allowed me to eat somewhat normally and not be afraid to go out with friends and family. 
I was initially diagnosed with IBS-D until I saw a different doctor who was able to give me a more specific diagnosis and a way to manage it. She said the often IBS is a blanket diagnosis if they can’t easily pinpoint the actual problem. I’m glad I kept looking for answers.
