Benzoyl Peroxide for acne?

Anyone with experience with benzoyl Peroxide for acne?
My GP prescribed for me a benzoyl peroxide (5%) + Erythromycin (3%) cream.  She told me to apply it topically on pimples every night.
I basically have a night out to go in 6 days. I wanted to diminish my pimples as much as possible but my concern is that this will dry my skin and I won’t be able to apply makeup nicely.
What if I apply it and then have aloe vera gel masks to boost the healing process? Also will there be a visible improvement of my acne in 6 days? I don’t have that many pimples, maybe 5 on each cheek and 10 really really small ones on my forehead and chin.

use it as your doctor prescribed. I had bad acne and now my skin is pretty much flawless. the benzoyl peroxide really helped. and now that I've stopped, I've maintained healthy skin with vitamins, water, and eating healthy.
but yes, just put on the benzoyl peroxide and wear a primer before your makeup. you only need a little of the benzoyl peroxide on the pimples, not your entire face.

Benzoyl is great for getting rid of acne quickly but it’s sooo harsh on the skin. Even just one application leaves my skin red, overly dry, very irritated, and extremely itchy. Allergies are quite common with it.

Benzoyl peroxide works wonders for outbreaks. It takes a minute to adjust but once your skin gets use to it, it does it’s job well.

I have used it in the past and feel like it helped. As for it drying out my skin j don't recall. I exfoliate regularly though and have a pretty moisture rich skin care routine.
