Going back to the US???

Question

We have been away from the US for almost 3 years.  We were planning to return soon but COVID has delayed that.  We are from Minnesota.  What is it really like now?  All we see on news and social media is about riots, protesting, politics, coronavirus, distance learning, etc.  What should we do?  Wait another year to return?  Any advice or insight is appreciated.

It is a complete fucking dumpster fire here. I’d wait at least another year (or 4 depending on what happens in November) to come back.

Just stay wherever you are. Everyone says it’s so bad here and everyone says they hate it. That really isn’t the case for everyone, but the media will sure make it seem like that. 😉

It’s a mess here. Wait till the election, hopefully Biden gets elected and things will start getting better...

I’m also moving back to the US but at the end of the year. To be honest, that’s all you see because that’s all the news covers. I still have plenty of friends and family back home and everything seems to be normal as usual with the exception of social distance learning/school, and of course dining out/activities are different or limited. My friends have been back to work since May and everything seems to be relatively the same 🤷🏻‍♀️
