My accidentally unassisted birth story - only 45 minutes of labor! 😳

In the night of my due date I woke at 2:00 am and when I turned over my water broke. I maid it till the bathroom to change underwear when the contractions started and they were intense immediately. After ten minutes of having contractions every other minute I felt like I already couldn’t handle. It is my second child and my first labor took 18 hours and built up nice and slowly and I could stay focused and relatively relaxed. I hoped this second labor would go a little faster, but I didn’t expected to be close already when it just started, so after 10 minutes it felt ridiculous to call the midwife already. After 20 minutes however I told my husband that no matter how soon he should call the midwife. She said it would take her 30 minutes to get to us and during this phone call I felt the urge to puss was starting (and she heard it over the phone too, I found out later). By then I told my husband we were going to do this by ourselves and he stayed so calm, just said ‘okay’ 😎 I wanted to push in the bed, but didn’t know how on earth to reach the bedroom. My husband said ‘We’re gonna do this, I will help you.’ During several expulsive contractions we made it foot by foot to the bed and when I said down the next contraction I felt the head was crowning and the next she was born. We think it was around 2:45 am, maybe a little earlier (we didn’t check the time immediately off course). Thank god she cried immediately, so I put her on my belly and covered her. The midwife arrived 20 minutes later. Everything was okay with the baby (8lbs and 4oz) and me and I’m really grateful for how things turned out, but it is a lot to process.
