Mastitis ? Will it go away on its own

I’ve been trying to wean off my pump for a few days now and today I woke up feeling the beginning of a fever. There are hard balls in my breast but I don’t want to pump because I’ll just make more milk. I took Ibuprofen.
Will this go away in it’s own or do I need to call my doctor

I've never taken antibiotics for mastitis. I take hot showers and use the pulsating shower head on the spot. I take ibuprofen for the fever, chills, and body aches. I also just nurse on that side only. I know your quitting pumping but maybe your doing it too quickly and should go a little slower. So maybe pump for a little bit after the hot shower.

No I have had it 3 times and it’s horrible, I managed to stop the first two with hand expressing under a hot shower feeding while laying over baby on the side it hurts while massing the breast and also a hot flannel on the breast while feeding with my third I was on antibiotics but it was still bad I ended up going to a physio and using ultrasound to clear it up.

Same here. Only one side of the Breast though. It feels all swollen and only that part of boob is getting bigger now. Like you mentioned I’m afraid it’ll just produce more milk if I express it time and again though. If not, my boob hurts. Helppp!!

It could be blocked ducts instead.  Pump to comfort until you get down to about 2 oz a session then start cutting sessions.  Cold turkey will lead to issues like this.  You can take benedryl or sage tablets to help dry things up.  Ice packs will help with the pain also.
If you have a fever or redness in your breast, then you need to see a doctor.

Full blown Mastitis is horrible  you feel like the flu x10 call the doctor before it gets worse
