What do you do all day???

Question

With our kiddos spending more and more time awake, what do you do all day? Not much is open here still because of covid and it's extremely hot outside. So I guess I'm looking mainly for indoor activities at home.  I'm at the end of my rope!

My kid sat in this box coloring the sides and bottom for FORTY-FIVE minutes this morning and then another 20 minutes tonight!! I was shocked! And it was super clean (until he figured out he could color on his pants...anybody know how to get crayon out of clothing?). Not sure it will last long term, but if you have a big box lying around it might be worth a try!

My son loves transferring activities and putting q-tips into an empty red pepper jar. Both are super inexpensive or you can find what you have in the house. I also bought macaroni noodles, rice, and beans from the dollar store for him to scoop and transfer with big spoons.

Sigh 😔 we go room to room and explore ha he leads me by the finger when he’s bored and wants to go into the next room. We go for walks early AM or the park or walks in the evening. I try to at least go outside once a day to play with his water table, splash pad or hose but being 32 weeks pregnant... it’s effing hot man. I’ve been a lot more “whatever” recently letting him play with pot and pans, etc.

Disney+ a good amount... maybe I’m a bad mom, but it allows me to cook, check emails, rest. Or, I pick everything up and put it away, and he destroys it all in like 10 minutes. And repeat. 😊 He likes his slide, books, playing chase, going to the pool, looking at pictures of himself, watching me cook. I’m not much help, I clearly struggle with things too! I bought some crayons today that I saw someone post about that were washable. Going to buy some coloring books online and hope he likes that! Oh... and He loves getting on my treadmill at 0.5 mph. Super slow, but he’ll climb on the front and sit and then “fall” off the back. It’s his favorite thing!

We play, mostly. She loves Mega Bloks, cans, coloring, sticker art, taking walks, etc. When I need to do dishes or something, she gets to watch The Wiggles for 20 minutes. We do that, probably 3 times a day? 
It’s really hard to keep them entertained. Ha. She’s super into books right now though, so she will bring me one and we will read it 15 times in one sitting. 🤦‍♀️

I’m finishing my coffee, typing this, as my daughter pulls out all of my husband’s socks! 😂 We’re in Florida, so I try to get us out for a walk or to the playground in the morning before it gets too steamy. Then I let her pull apart the kitchen as I make lunch. We play with her toys, read book, color in coloring books, watch TV, rough up the cat, probably some more TV, empty drawers and cabinets then put everything back, and just survive. I look at Pinterest for all these fun toddler activities but they seem overwhelmingly time consuming and costly that I don’t end up doing any of them. I can’t wait until it’s cooler out and then she can run amok outside in the yard, which is her favorite thing. Just give this kid mud, rocks, and lizard sightings and she’s happy! Good luck it’s tough right now.
