Attempting to roll?

Question

Idk if it’s possible being so young (LO is 7 weeks), but the other night we heard him making loud noises and checked on him and he was on his left side completely. Then he kicked real hard and rolled to his right side and would of ended up on his stomach but his arm was up causing him to stop at his side. 
He sleeps in a bassinet by our bed. We stopped swaddling last night to be safe.
Is he starting to roll or is it just strong kicks causing him to attempt to roll?

It's definitely attempting to roll. The arm being in the way is the only reason my son got to 2 months before actually rolling, he was doing this at 5 weeks 🙈. My daughter is 8 weeks and her arm is stopping her too, I wanted her to be a lazier baby but apparently that's not gonna happen 🤣

Our little guy has been rolling from belly to back since he was 6.5weeks (now is 8 weeks old) and very consistent ( about 3-5 times a day )! I’m shocked as my first son didn’t roll until he was 4 months old

It’s possible! My sons been rolling from tummy to back since 3 weeks and he’d currently trying to figure out back to front at 5 weeks

That’s a question I have to ask the pediatrician next week too! A little before 7 weeks, my little guy rolled over during tummy time ( for a couple weeks during tummy time, he does this thing where he hikes up his legs and looks like he’s about to lay on his side). I thought the first toll was a fluke and screamed for my husband to come and that he missed it.. I put him back on his tummy and he did it again 😳.  The next morning, we checked to see if he would do it again and he did.. he hasn’t rolled again for a few days but the fact that he did it several times, I’m like holy crap!

My son rolled over for the first time at 5 weeks. Tummy time doesn’t really work because he just rolls right over.

I’m not sure, but my LO sometimes does that in her bassinet too. I’m not sure if she’s just kicking her legs and the momentum makes her turn without her trying to actually roll over.

My LO was doing the same thing at 6 weeks and by 7 weeks has rolled 3 times. I called pediatrician and they said it’s rare but not unheard of. I started swaddling with arms out, and transitioning to sleep sack next.

Thank you ladies! I thought it wasn’t possible but seems like you guys are experiencing the same thing! We stopped swaddling him since he is starting to attempt to roll.
