I’m currently in labor. Should I get an epidural ?

They’re getting painful and I can barely walk to the bathroom to pee without it feeling like my back is giving out. I’m conflicted on getting an epidural. Had misoprotol a few hours ago and more than likely starting pitocin soon. What should I do?

Once they add pitocin that pain will get worse and worse. I hate pitocin with a passion. I personally would get the epidural that’s just me. If you can handle the pain then don’t but beware there will be a point when it’s too late if you want one.

Focus on getting thru the pain and delivering ur baby as opposed to being on ur phone😬

Pitcon can make contraction hurt worse so get that and then see how you feel.

My epidural helped ( a lot!)  But only until it was time to push.
They turn down the strength of it at pushing time. Which no one told me! Pushing was horrible and I felt it all. 
So get one, if only to get a few hours of relief.

I had pitocin and the contractions were so much worse once it started. I was begging them to turn it off. If you can get the epidural now I would. I had meconium in my fluid so I had to wait until I was 6 or 7 centimeters before I could get it or risk slowing down labor too much and then needing a c-section

It’s all up to you... personally I have a pain intolerance and I had got it with my first and I will get it again. They also have other options... I would ask what they are. Not every hospital does the same.

I hated pitocin. I'd personally get it if you're already miserable and not very far along yet. But if you feel like you're hanging in there, or you're pretty well dilated already, then stick with it and see how you do. Just keep in mind that it can take awhile for the anesthesiologist to get to you, so if you're getting to the point of feeling desperate, don't wait lol
