Do you expose your baby to germs?

Are you a germaphobe when it comes to
Your baby or do you expose them to some germs to build their immune system such as being near pets or laying on the floor￼￼

I mean, I’m not going to let her lay in a public bathroom floor or anything, but she comes into contact with “normal” everyday germs. Her older siblings, me dropping the passy on our kitchen floor for 5 seconds, that type of stuff. 😂

I don’t intentionally expose her to germs. However, we do have a dog that is always around and it’s hard to be the cleanest person with a newborn.

I am much more of a germaphobe with this baby due to COVID. My first I wasn’t really after about the six week mark. I still have people mask up around my 8 week old and hand sanitize or wash hands if they hold her. But when we are at home and no one is visiting then I’m more laidback. We have cats and I have a toddler so she is exposed to plenty of everyday household germs because I’m not super vigilant on keeping things sanitized and spotless in our house. But if we are out in public right now I do keep her in her front pack or stroller only because of covid.

I thought I would be over protected and not let baby near my dogs. But my dogs are persistent and are always laying by the baby and we decided its all fine because it will hopefully prevent him from developing allergies against dogs.

Yep my baby plays on the floor. We also have dogs and when he drops his pacifier it is considered “clean” unless there’s visible dirt or dog hair on it.

I mean I don’t intentionally necessarily but I also can NOT get my 18 mo to stop touching her face so...she gets exposed.

After the 3 months, yes. But with COVID right now, not really.
