Curious about dating an older guy

So I’m 19 and I have a boyfriend and we just have different passions as of right now. He’s more focused in his friends then us whereas I’m more focused on college and making sure our relationship last strong. He feels like I nag him which of course sucks to be told so I honestly think I want something else. I’m very curious about dating an older man. Someone 25-30 years of age just to see. I know my boyfriend and I aren’t going to last any longer, we both know it. we just have different dreams and priorities as of right now. I want to plan together for the future and he only wants to live in the now. In my family, all the successful ones planned ahead for their future whereas his family all planned in the now and most of them are still struggling. So back to the main question, what’s it’s like dating a guy older then you and will that be a better option for someone like me?
