Clomid?

Has anyone been put on Clomid to help lengthen their cycle? I have had my OB through 8 years and two pregnancies. Both kids I got pregnant within 2 weeks of coming off birth control (actively tried to conceive both). Now with trying to conceive baby #3 it has been 4 months with nothing after coming off nexplanon. He is concerned about my cycle being only 23 days consistently for all of those months, so is wanting to put me on clomid to help my cycle lengthen (by having a more healthy ovulation) to this give me time to get pregnant essentially since I always start my period at 10 or 11 dpo. Has anyone else had their doctor help them out this quickly or use this method? I’m not familiar with the medication and want to know who had luck with it or good experiences.
