My husband finally got to hold our little NICU miracle! 😍

MyLittleButtercup • Mama. Wife. My girl is 6, my little miracle dude is 4, and my little smiley guy is 1! It’s been a wild ride! 🎉🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s been almost a week since the terrifying day that Amos came into the world and we’ve been holding it together and holding on for dear life on this wild ride. We are so proud of our little man, but its so hard to have him here in the world and not be able to love on him and snuggle with him. Since he still has several lines hooked up to him, holding him is still on hold. Soon, but not yet.

We were incredibly blessed that, despite my husband being called up to help with the relief efforts of Hurricane Laura, he was able to take leave and come to the hospital for this traumatic week.

Tomorrow he has to leave us. He has to go back to the relief efforts and we’ll finish our Little Man’s NICU stay without daddy. And y’all... The nurses were so amazing. I told them that he had to leave in the morning and he would be gone for several weeks, possibly a couple of months, and wouldn’t have the opportunity to hold his baby. They pulled up a chair and wrapped him up to protect his lines, and they let him hold Amos. 😭 It was so sweet! He sat there for almost an hour with him. They had started introducing milk to him today, so he even got to feed him a bottle! I was just in heaven watching him hold his little boy. It breaks my heart that he can’t be with us to take him home, but I thank God for these little moments.
