How do you buy a house?

I’m 24 and my fiancé is 27. We want to start the process but we are lost as to where to start. 
Do we need a lot saved? Do we need over 650 credit score? What should we know?
We want a house rather than to rent when our lease is up in March.

It truly depends what you want. If you are okay with a little higher of a payment, some loans dont require you to put a certain amount down but if you do have some saved and want to then it can drop your monthly payments. 
Go talk to a realtor, tell them what you can look at when it comes to payment, what kind of house you are looking for, and then they will get you in touch with someone who can help get you approved for a mortgage. 
Make sure you like the realtor and the person handling your loan. We got someone very rude when we were first looking who just refused to help us and tell us what we needed to do to fix our chances.

First thing you need to do is find a company that gives out home loans and see if you’re pre approved and the amount you’re approved for. 
In my experience realtors don’t really help out too much except looking for homes, but there’s no point in looking for houses until you know what you qualify for.
