period or after birth ?

i stopped post partum bleeding at 3 weeks , i’m now just over 6 weeks and woke up this morning to bright red bleeding. 
is it safe to say this is my period returning ?
if it is , should i expect anything different ?

Postpartum bleeding can come and go for a few months, actually. Even if it stopped for a few weeks. So no one here can say for sure if it’s yours period or postpartum bleeding continuing.

yup. totally possible - you can google for other instances/people. I stopped bleeding at 2 weeks & got my normal period at 5 weeks (also heavier than hospital but my bleeding was light). My doctor said the same thing as mentioned earlier (postpartum bleeding later) but I went for an ultrasound after my visit for endo & they confirmed I had indeed had my period. First time my doctor had heard of it, only then did she say it was "hypothetically possible"

It’s probably your period. My first one was SUPER heavy, like heavier than when I left the hospital
