Broken water or pee?

Question

For those of you who just had a slow leak when you’re water broke, how were you able to tell it was amniotic fluid and not urine?
When it would leak, could you feel it as it leaked out?

I kept filling up a pad. It was clear and had a sweet smell to it. The 1st time I had just went to the restroom so I thought I just didn’t empty my bladder but then I filled up 2 more pads.

For a couple of days before my water broke I could feel a bit of leaking. I didn’t have the fluid tested so I don’t know for sure, but I’m nearly certain it wasn’t urine. Yes I could feel it as it leaked out. It was never a lot, enough to wet my underwear, but wouldn’t have filled up a pad. When it actually broke though I knew the difference immediately because it was a much bigger gush of fluid, and was several gushes by the time I got to the hospital.

I was laying down watching a basketball game with my daughter and hubby and felt a gush so I knew it was my water because I didn’t need to pee or did any type of force and it felt weird because I never experienced my water breaking like that with my first .

My OB told me to put a panty liner on, lay down for 30 minutes and if I soak through when so get up then I should call and have the fluids tested.
I only knew that my was broke because I felt an actual pop and lost my plug at the same time. It was a slow leak that turned into a gush. I could stop the flow but as soon as I would relax it would keep flowing.

I just kept feeling damp. I would change my panty liner and 20-30minutes later it was wet/damp again. It never dawned on me it was my water because it was just little bits at a time. I asked a coworker row a pad because my liners weren't keeping up and she looked at me like I lost my marbles. She demanded I call my OB. The OB suggested I head into L&D. I was (still am) a RN at the hospital I delivered at. I rode the elevators up 2 floors and had my son 14 hours later.

im pretty sure my water broke all at once but i defintely could feel it but i swear it was soooooo warm and i think kinda slimy feeling? 😂😂😂 i had a little bit of pink blood in it, but after it broke maybe 10-15 min later i had such awful diarrhea i couldnt stop going and my water just kept coming out felt like i was peeing endlessly and i was so nauseous threw up a couple times
