Transitioning from sippy cups to real cups

Question

Tips on transitioning a 19 month old from sippy cups to real cups. My goal is no sippy cups by 2 years. My son currently uses the nuby straw sippy cups. Any cups that may help in the transition?

Use these. We skipped the traditional supply cup and went straight to these at around 14 months. Granted my son is 2 so he still has spills but he knows how to perfectly drink from a regular cup better than his 3 and 3.5 year old cousins.

I used these and also just regular small kid cups with no lids. Started with only allowing to drink in the kitchen and he picked it up super well with no spills after the 3-4 day using them so now I even trust him using them in the living room. He knows to set it on the end
tables and not to put them where they can spill. Also drinking out of my plastic water bottles every once in a while helped him learn a lot with controlling the water flow!
