Failing early glucose test at 13 weeks means they will diagnose me with type 2 diabetes?

Hey ladies. 
I just came back from my doctors appointment where I got news that I failed my early 1 hour glucose test that they wanted to do this time because of my gestational diabetes from last pregnancy. The doctor explained to me that because they caught this so early that it’s most likely type 2 diabetes instead of gestational, even though I explained to her just recently started to get the itchy dark neck (mask of pregnancy) which was one of the big signs from my first pregnancy with GD. I checked my levels a couple of times after I delivered my baby in 2019 with GD and they were completely normal. I’m not okay with a type 2 diabetes diagnosis if it’s not completely true and last time I had GD I failed because my numbers were 1-3 points off literally and I also felt 100% fine and Baby was born perfect with no complications. 
Has anyone else had this problem?

I failed at 13 weeks in my last pregnancy.  My A1c 6 months after having a baby was 5.0. Before this pregnancy,  my a1c was 4.9. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and my blood sugar this morning after breakfast was 196. 
They can't say I was diabetic before pregnancy since they last did my A1c in June.

The only way to tell is for them to retest you postpartum. The criteria for GD is stricter then regular diabetes. So you could have the same fasting, but in pregnancy it's positive for GD and non pregnant it's negative, or possibly prediabetic. The treatment is the same regardless right now, so you just have to wait until you are postpartum. They will want you to retest then.

I think it just means that, because you had GD in your past pregnancy it’s more likely to come up earlier in your second pregnancy.

It does not mean you have type 2 when I was first pregnant at 8 weeks they did the blood work and my acl was fine so they should be going by that and not by the glucose test I also failed my glucose test at 13 weeks and had gestational diabetes my last pregnancy as well.
